You have the freedom to pursue your IELTS exam registration from either IDP Australia or the British council. The IELTS exams can be registered either online or offline. You will also be required to have a valid passport. Follow these steps to register for your IELTS exam online:

1. Go to the official British Council IELTS registration page.
2. Register an account with the British council’s IELTS registration page.
3. Choose your nearest test center.
4. Register for the test by making payment to the Nabil Bank.

IELTS TEST FORMAT

Test duration: 30 minutes
Candidates listen to four recorded monologues and dialogues, with each recording around 3 minutes long.
Each part consists of 10 questions.

  • 1st Recording- Conversation in a daily social situation.
  • 2nd Recording- Monologue in daily life.
  • 3rd Recording- Academic discussion
  • 4th Recording- Monologue in a specific academic subject.

Test duration: 60 minutes
Candidates demonstrate their skills such as skimming, understanding logical perspectives, understanding writer’s opinions, and reading for detail.

Academic Test
1. Reading comprehension format
2. 3 long passages(analytical, discursive, descriptive, and factual)
3. The length of each passage is around 1000 words.
4. 40 questions
5. All answers are required to be transferred in an answer sheet.

General Test
1. Reading comprehension format
2. 5 passages
3. Total 40 objective questions
4. Extracts from ads and brochures
5. All answers are required to be transferred in an answer sheet.

Test duration: 60 minutes

Academic Test
Task 1
1. Explanation of given figures, table, or graph
2. Minimum 150 words worth explanation
3. Suggested time: 20 minutes

Task 2
1. Essay writing on a given topic
2. Persuasive essay of 250 words
3. Suggested time: 40 minutes

General Test
Task 1
1. Letter Writing.
2. More than 150 words of formal/semi-formal/informal letter.
3. Suggested time: 20 minutes.
Task 2
1. Essay Writing on a given topic.
2. More than 250 words of Persuasive essay.
3. Suggested time: 40 minutes.

Test duration: 10 to 15 minutes

1. Face to face formal interview between examiner and candidate
